Wonderful 2 Years End Next Month

I thank God for the opportunity to teach this choir for the last 2 years.
I am grateful for the continual opportunity to serve as choir conductor right after I moved from Melbourne, Australia in 2005.
I have committed myself to be choir conductor for the last 20 years when I was in Sibu, Melbourne, Singapore and Kuching.

Most were amazed as how I could handle such a task and yet works as an interventional cardiologist who is available 24 hours round the clock. I can only say is God's grace and mercy. Indeed I acknowledge the compliments from many brothers and sisters that `you are the only doctor (more so specialist doctor) who is a choir conductor in Sarawak/Sabah'. I have struggled very hard to do the task to the best of my ability but lately it has taken a toll.

I have frequently declined to see patients or turned away patients so not to interfere with my tuesday and sunday choir committments. As you know (probably don't know), cardiac patients are of emergency nature and they need round-the-clock attention. It's close to impossible to care for them whilst you need to be in the church (unless the hospital is next door to the church). So after these years, my body has broke down. I am tired and in fact have not recovered from my sickness which started 4 weeks ago.

I hence have decided not to continue after next month and pray that God has prepared a suitable person for the task. I need a respite.

I love choir and still buy choir materials whenever I drop by Singapore every few months. I have a library of choir materials but for now I need rest in order to go on a longer journey fit and healthy.
